False Input Trigger After Ignition Off
False Input Trigger After Ignition Off

This article provides information to prevent false input triggers related to Ignition Off events.

Updated over 2 years ago

This diagram is to prevent false input triggers directly related to Ignition off events. Some input monitoring scenarios “back feed” during the Ignition off state. Installing a relay exactly as outlined here will make false triggers, caused by ignition off events, electrically impossible.

While it is possible for 86 to be connected to accessory, it will cause premature failure of the relay (and erroneous triggers if zero de-bounce). While this diagram will work regardless of input trigger polarity (+/-), please use a Negative input on the GPS device whenever possible.
