Idle Time Alert

Use this article to learn more about the Idle Time alert.

The Idle Time Alert sends an alert notification when a vehicle idles for a period of time at or more than the specified time limit (default is 15 minutes).


Recipients

This alert can be configured to be sent to recipients via text and/or email with the option to notify the driver with a custom message. This alert allows drivers to reduce idling in real-time, which may lead to decreased fuel expenses.


Setting the Alert

How to set the Idle Time Alert:

Alerts can be managed from the Alert page in the Portal. To set the Idle Time Alert, follow the below instructions.

  1. From the Alert Page, click New Alert.

  2. Use the Search field to type in "Idle Time" or scroll through the alert types (listed in alphabetical order) until you see "Idle Time Alert."

  3. Hover your mouse over the alert until you see the "Select" button, then click Select.

  4. Complete the following fields:

    1. Alert Title

    2. Data Source

    3. Notification

    4. Idle Limit

    5. True Idle

    6. Active

  5. If you would like to set Advanced Options, set the following:

    1. Active Weekdays

    2. Landmark

    3. One Time

    4. Click Create Alert.
